Everest Base Camp There are two Everest Base Camps from where climbers begin their ascent. South Base Camp in Nepal is used to climb Everest through the southeast ridge and North Base Camp in Tibet is used for climbing through the northeast ridge. Trekkers walk up to the Base Camp and no further than this. In summer people can reach North Base Camp on a vehicle as well to view the magnificent and mighty Everest.
How high is Everest Base Camp? The Base Camp in Nepal lies at the altitude of 5,364 m (17,598 ft) and the Base Camp in Tibet is at 5,150 m (16,900 ft).
