To reach the starting point of Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you have to drive to Nayapul, but first you have to board a tourist bus that will take you from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Other modes of transportation to reach Pokhara are private vehicle, local bus, and domestic airline. Pirthivi Highway connects Kathmandu with Pokhara, and it traverses the hills, rivers, streams, valleys, and villages. From the highway, for more than 2 hours, you will see the Trishuli River, and from the different places of this highway, you will see some stuning view of snow – covered mountains. Pokhara is not only the second largest city of Nepal, but also a scenic city of Nepal in terms of views of the three highest mountains of the world, such as Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, and Manaslu. All 8000-metre peaks. In addition to this, Pokhara is blessed with geographical wonders, such as water falls, stone caves, and fresh water lakes, which are the interesting places for the tourists to visit.
Next morning, a bus takes you from Pokhara to Nayapul, a village by the river, Modi Khola. The trekking trail from Nayapul to Tirkhedunga is wide and easy, elevated and uphill, and the natural scenery that you see from this trail is stirring. The trekking trail across the stream and the trekking trail that passes by waterfalls are where you are going to walk for some time. Next morning, you follow lengthy ascending stone steps that lead you to Ulleri and Ghorepani, and you trek in the area, where there are splendid, attractive, and brillant scenery. Ghorepani is densely forested, which contains rhododenron trees and other trees. Besides walking in this region, the views that you see are amazing, astonishing, and outstanding, which you would love to capture in photographs as you walk uphill, cross streams, pass forest, and move forward along the trail.
Next day, if you want to see the “Paradise of Mountains” of the world, you are to wake up early in the morning and hike to Poon hill, which is an unforgettable viewpoint, and which offers spectacular views of sunrise on the Himalayas, uncompromising sunset on the Himalayas, spectacular panoramic view of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges, including incredible and amazing view of other mountains. You will meet a lot of trekkers going down from Poon hill to Ghorepani. After passing through a village, Banthali, you walk a steep trail towards the river, cross this river, and ascend the hill. Again, you walk a steep trail that passes through forest, but which ends suddenly, as it seems, when you reach a village on green ridge, Chule. From here, you will walk steep uphill as well as steep downhill that passes through barley field, but you will also be walking on a flat trail for some time as well. The trekking trail is scenic and offers an excellent view of the upper Modi Valley and climbs high upward above the Modi Khola.
You need to accept the fact that up to Annapurna Base Camp Trek, you will be walking uphill trail most of the time. And this is once again applicable to you when you trek from Doban to Deurali. The trekking trail rises up gradually above the river and takes you to the forest of rhododendron, oak, and bamboo, as well as to the canyon. On the way, you cross the bridges that are across two streams. You will also walk in a lonely place, which is a forest, uninhabited and remote, and you might see wild animals such as boar, deer, and leopard. Later, you head off to the Hinko cave then you reach Deurali.
Today, you will climb a steep trail, and you will find the trail from Bagar to Machapuchare Base Camp demanding. From this base camp, you will find the view of mountains such as Fishtail, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna South rewarding, dazzling, and enticing. As you trek from here to Annapurna Sanctuary or Annapurna Base Camp, the vegetative region gradually becomes less and less, but the trekking trail widens more and more. From the trail, you get an outstanding view of Annapurna South, and from Annapurna Base Camp, you will see mountains, such as Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV including other peaks. Next morning, you walk a downhill trail up to Chomrong. You will also trek through rhododendron and bamboo plants. The trail from Chomrong to Jhinu Hot Spring is steep. This spring is a hot pool, where you can dip and relieve your tired body. Tomorrow, the trekking trail descends to the right of the Modi Khola and offers the fascinating view of western Nepal as it leads you to Nayapul.
