Homestay trek helps you to get out of the hustle and bustle of city life, and it is more than escaping from city life. Homestay Trek takes place in the village of Gorkha district, which is quiet and calm. The air that you breath in the village is clean and free from pollution. And the progress of any kind of dream looks far away in this village. The money that comes to Ace Holidays through this trek goes to the host families, who provide you food and accommodation. This is the reason, why Homestay Trek plays an important role in the life of the villagers economically. ACCOMMODATION
Important: It is common in Nepal to offer food or tea to guests at home; however, you are advised not to accept any food from the local villagers other than with whom, you are staying during the Homestay Trek. Other villagers could have prepared the food in contaminated water; as a result, you may fall sick. If you are invited by a local villager then you should go with your guide.
TOILET FACILITIES
Most villages in Nepal do not have a flushing toilet, as well as well – managed sewage system. In village, all toilets are of squat types or Indian styles, made of a ceramic basin or few planks, precariously positioned over a hole in the ground. There is usually a water tap and bucket near the toilet. If you do not prefer water then you have to bring sufficient amount of toilet paper because you will not find toilet paper in the village.
BATHING & LAUNDRY
In a village, only few houses have bathrooms; therefore, for bathing, as well as for washing clothes, you have to go to the spring, creeks, and rivers or to the communal outdoor showers. The water of these outdoor showers is little warmer. It is acceptable to use soap in the streams while bathing, but we strongly recommend you to wear non – revealing attire. Nudity is taken very seriously, as well as unacceptable. You can wash clothes in any of the public showers, or nearby rivers and brooks. The most effective way of washing clothes is a local method, in which, you have to soak clothes in water, lay out on a smooth stone, and rub with soap and brushed.

(Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 15 days can be obtained by paying US $ 25 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entries for 30 days and 90 days can be obtained by paying US $40 and $ 100 respectively. Cultural Shock
• The lifestyles in these small villages are wayward different than those in the cities of Nepal. This indeed displays the traditional culture of Nepal. The very little influence of western culture on these people and the traditional approach can bring a little cultural shock to you, and you should be reasy to accept this. • Most of the villagers have a tendency to speak loud with aggression. Hence, you should be aware that this is just a normal approach. • Physical disciplining (such as hitting and using the strap) are common and old practice in Government schools. The Government is working to remove this out, but it will still take some time. • Sacrifies of animals and birds in traditional Hindu rituals during festivals are common practises and so is a visit to a witch doctor. • Many people in the village smoke cigarettes. • Hygiene levels are often much lower in the villages as the locals have higher immunities. So it is advisable to reduce the chance of getting sick by being aware when you interact with the children, and whne you accept food and water from the villagers.
